I had lots of fun on Wednesday in the MMA workout. As usual with BKJN Dan we made efficient use of our time for maximum results.
Also I have selected my inspirational quote.
"Leadership: The art of getting someone else to do something you want done because he wants to do it." By Dwight D. Eisenhower.
Over the past couple of weeks I have been watching everyone on the Forged team and taking note of how all the different personalities motivate and influence others in different ways.
I am reminded of a personality profile scheme a company I worked for used to put effective teams together for projects.
It is called DISC (D=Dominate I=influential S=Steadiness C=Conscientious). The idea is you want to put teams together that have varied personalities to maximize efficiency and results on projects.
Dominate people are take charge type of folks who push their ideas hard and want to take immediate action.
Influential people are not as aggressive as D's but tend to pull groups together and steer them towards their goals.
Steadiness people are more centered around family and friends. Not so likely to move away from a secure area etc.
Conscientious people are typically engineers and like to have everything figured out before moving forward.
Just so you know my personality profile is a C with an I backer. Under pressure the C becomes a D.
To this day I use this to decide how to put teams together at work and so on.
Also the leader of a group is not necessarily in charge of the group. To me leadership is a subtle thing.
