Stress of Cooking... 3/4/11

Tonight I had made veggie lasagna for dinner. I had brought ingredients that morning and was going to make it around 5 and dinner could be served at 6:00. I don't know why I assumed it was going to take an hour to cook since the recipe said about a hour and an half. Anyways, my family ended up eating dinner around nine that night, which wasn't good because it was a school night and everyone was hungry. This happened because not only did i start dinner late ( more around 6), i failed to look at all the directions for the recipe before i began the prepping and cooking. Because i was reading it one step of the time, i didn't think of boiling noodles while i was cutting the vegetables. Because i don't spend a lot of time cooking like my brother it took me a little while to figure out what i was doing and i didn't ask for help which would have made the process go a lot further. From this experience I learned that its best to read thoroughly the directions and requirements of something before you start, plan out your time more wisely, and don't be afraid to ask for help. The lasagna was good too!
