Eating like a black belt

Hello everyone, Well yesterday I did my first health food and it came out really good, with the help of my mom and cousin It was called Fajita. That was the firts time I had  cooked a dish with someone recording it every step of the way. Anyways, it came out really good!  My family loved it so much. Now that I'm here I just wanna to say that last week training was really fun with all the runing and push-ups and sit-ups etc, everyone did such a good job andthey ran really fast too.  Unfortuantely, it left me really sore.

The Hunger Games

Hey everybody, I just watched The Hunger Games (originally written by Suzzane Collins)  today with a few of my AHAMA friends, and it was great!  To those of you who are interested in the movie, I recommend you read at least the first 50 pages of the first book because things are explained better in the book.  Another thing, I wouldn't recommend that (great) movie to kids Jordan's age and/or kids that are immature too.  Can't wait 'til the next 2 books (Catching Fire and The Mockingjay) come out into movies.

P.S. I'm sure I spelled some things wrong, and the spell check sometimes doesn't recognize names or fictional spelling.

hello team today im going to talk about distractions such as video games and stuff i figured that almost every day you should be doing at least 100 push ups and sit ups  get rid of some of your video game or entertainment time for karate remember were setting a goal and were being a role model remember this push ups and sit ups only take a few minutes to do do em right and do em well the last thing you want is to fail the 1st phase test that would be very bad...
hello team after my teachers assigned us aton of homework it was so much i had to miss the whole class last wendsday i was really made but instead i repped out some push ups and sit ups remember if you cant go to class no big deal just as long you get some of your karate work done remember grades school and family come first well i got to go and do my next blog cuz i dont want to pack it all in one know what i mean see ya later team!
hello team im gonna tell you about how nervous i am im like very nervous i hope i pass the test omg im freaking out in a good way though not like im gonna fail whoa boy im ready and im pumped!!! yeah!!

Ingrid 3/14/12

Hi everyone,

Well it"s been hard this couple of week's but I have been doing just fine. Last friday I didn't have school so instead of sleeping all day, like I usually do, I decided to do 100 of push-ups, sit-ups, pull-ups/rows all of the above and run a mile. Without someone telling me to.  I also did it on Saturday. I was going go to Aim High that day but I didn't plan my stuff right and I didn't.  What I did do was train with Emilio at home for two hours.

Tuesday, March 13, 2012

It has been a long couple of weeks. I find myself having difficulty time managing things and if something isn't of immediate importance i tend to cast it aside and forget about it. Missing some deadlines made me realize that i still need help prioritizing and finding time to put effort into other parts of my life ( school and home) besides Aim High. Still looking for a balance.

3/10/12

It was a busy Saturday at Aim High, with work in the morning and forms class right after. Forms class was helpful because not only did we rep out all the forms we needed to know for the phase test, Sam was able to pick out some things i could work on for koryo. Its helpful because when you are doing a form or anything else and you think that you are doing it right, some times you just need another set of eyes to give you another perspective. Sam was able to see details that i couldn't and hopefully i can keep that in mind when practicing my forms later. No matter what there is always something we can improve on.

Stress of Cooking... 3/4/11

Tonight I had made veggie lasagna for dinner. I had brought ingredients that morning and was going to make it around 5 and dinner could be served at 6:00. I don't know why I assumed it was going to take an hour to cook since the recipe said about a hour and an half. Anyways, my family ended up eating dinner around nine that night, which wasn't good because it was a school night and everyone was hungry. This happened because not only did i start dinner late ( more around 6), i failed to look at all the directions for the recipe before i began the prepping and cooking. Because i was reading it one step of the time, i didn't think of boiling noodles while i was cutting the vegetables. Because i don't spend a lot of time cooking like my brother it took me a little while to figure out what i was doing and i didn't ask for help which would have made the process go a lot further. From this experience I learned that its best to read thoroughly the directions and requirements of something before you start, plan out your time more wisely, and don't be afraid to ask for help. The lasagna was good too!
hello testers today i forgot to write down acts of kindness (i just did right now) i did a ton of them today without even noticing that i actually did them dont make the mistake i did!
hello testers i was looking at bsbn Jessica's family first blog and man that was a really sad story but its true family first karate is well I'm not trying to disrespect karate but karate is not as important as your family because without your family you really would struggle in every class like Jessica said family first!
hello testers it me Clark we have a huge test tomorrow and I'm pumped but i don't think i have enough push ups sit ups and rows but i already told you guys my plan and i feel kind of confident about this test besides that i have to do alotf push and sit ups get ready for a good test and don't loose your balance....
hello team i can up with a plan to pass or just well barely pass my test i might not pass but ill pass the 2nd one here's my plan my goal is to at least get 500 to you know that much stuff of push ups or sit ups every day i think that every day I'm going to make acts of kindness and kick this tests butt!
hello team its me clark just to tell u guys im worried i might not do good on the 1st phase test but i have a plan and im going to exceed the 2nd phase test yeah!!

Phase Test 1

Really looking forward to the test tomorrow. I'm feeling very confident with my forms, and I've gone over who I want to profile for the test. There were so many choices, it took a while to decide.

I've also been eating much healthier (half a chicken breast every day, blue berries, soft-boiled eggs, lots of vegetables, etc.) and I have a lot more energy to get through all my classes. Even though I haven't posted it yet, I have filmed a little bit of the process I went through to make all that food.

Also, I sparred Danny last night, after class...very tough, but I held it together haha. Got a few bruises from that, hurt my right hip slightly, and I've got a scrape on my knuckles. I'm a little beat up, but I'm looking forward to the next round.

Hello team I'm going to be telling you how my 1st phase test was i mean man it was awsome but we all were falling behind a little.... i think that the retest that were all taking we will completely ace that test but make sure to do all of your requirements they know if you've been doing them or not....
until then lets forge our skills and turn the mm into strong iron
ATTITUDE
hello again team, I'm going to tell you something that's really been important to me and all of you guys and girls attitude. I have been showing up to every Saturday training classes no matter what and every time i come back it gets harder and harder. When it gets harder to do training your attitude is affected by this. Sometimes you say to yourself "i cant do this" " i failed" its not good to say those things it can really discourage you in your effort and the way you perform. So when times are hard think positive and or look at your belt motto. This whole test is based on if you can handle it or not. always stick with a positive and good mental attitude!

sincerely,Clark
hello again team, today I'm discussing my tracking with push ups and sit ups. So far i have done a total of 1,000 of each so i think its not enough. I'm raising my average push ups and sit ups from 150 a day to 300-400 a day I wanna give this test my all and master the basics!!

sincerely, Clark

Family First

Hey all! I was reminded tonight of an important lesson I learned during my first degree test: Family First! My father in law went into the hospital Sunday with chest pains. He was fine stayed overnight and was discharged today home. About 6:30 tonight he was rushed back to the hospital by ambulance and is being readmitted. So in the crush of getting the kids where they needed to go John and I split up so he could go up the hospital to be with him mom. This plus a cold made me miss training tonight.

In 09 we had a similar circumstance with John's grandpa, and in 2011 we had this happen again with my grandma. We missed a lot of training.

I'm not testing this year so it is easier for me to prioritize not coming to class. But for those of you who are counting hours, sometimes there are going to be conflicts and things outside of your control that are going to make you miss class.

Don't sweat it! You only get to have this experience of testing for your black belt once. And that makes it pretty high the list. But you also only get one family...one grandma...one grandpa...one brother...one sister. So be sure that you strike a balance in life between your training and all of the other things that matter too.

See you all Wednesday!

Ingrid Skuzie 3/4/12

I thought I was pretty prepared for the testing on Wednesday but I guess I wasn't.  The test was a little confusing but I guess RJN Jeremy is trying to teach us to be flexible and to be prepared at all times.  I do alot better if I am told to do something or to study something and then I am told when I need to do it.  It's hard for me not to have things organized.  I guess this can be a WOW for me if I learn to adapt.
